- We live on the beach and are in the process of purchasing a very good patio umbrella. This umbrella has to be able to withstand the harsh elements from the salt and sea. What do you recommend?
You have found an umbrella company that long ago abandoned the throw away philosophy in manufacturing umbrellas. We cater to the client that wants a high quality, functional, attractive and built to handle Florida's sun, salt and wind product. We have commercial customers in exposed applications that have been in service over ten years with no maintenance or repairs necessary. We have designed our frames so in the event of damage the parts are field replaceable.
- What is the actual diameter of, let's say, an 8-foot umbrella?
It is 8 feet measured from side to side.
- Do your Signature Collection umbrellas tilt?
No. We have not found or been able to develop a good system. Our umbrellas are larger than most patio umbrellas; and since our frames are heavier, we are concerned about the strength of the tilt system plus the stability of the umbrella when tilted. We recommend the use of our extension flap option that solves the question of shade. The flap is snapped on the area where the shade is needed. Very simple, very safe and more effective than a tilt.
- What shapes are available?

- Can I use the umbrella with a table?
Yes. All sizes excluding the 13' octagonal with accommodate a standard height table. The difficulty with the 13' is the ribs will hit the table in the closed position.
- What fabrics are available?
We use 100% Sunbrella Acrylic fabric utilizing a two-piece top with an extra large vent to insure stability in breezy conditions. Take a look ... Fabrics. - How do I clean the fabric?

- I see other market umbrellas which show brass on the ribs. Is that important?
The brass is purely decorative and has no structural benefit. Actually, we use to do this but found it tarnished quickly and became a maintenance issue for our customers.
- What woods are available?
We use the finest woods available in the construction of our umbrellas We offer Ash, Mahogany and Teak. These woods are known for their outdoor tolerance. Woods
- What do you put on the wood to protect it?
Our Mahogany and Oak/Ash umbrellas are finished with an oil-based stain by "Behr" adding extra protection against the elements. Our stain will not crack or peel like marine spar varnish and may be easily reapplied. We hand rub our Teak umbrella with Teak oil to protect and bring out the color and grain of the wood. Woods
- What is the diameter of your pole?
We use 1-1/2" and 2" solid pole construction. This means that our poles have either a 1-1/2 or 2" pole diameter. A solid pole insures stability of the frame. Components
- Is a solid frame better than a frame which screws together in the center?
Our solid Frame is much stronger than those frames which are in two pieces and slide together. It's more difficult for us to ship it; however, we will not sacrifice strength as most other companies do Components.
- How thick are your ribs compared ot your competition?
Our Ribs are 7/8" x 1-1/4" thick which makes them almost twice as thick as other umbrellas. The thinner the rib, the easier it snaps in windy conditions. Components
- What kind of hardware do you use?
We use only the finest stainless steel hardware and marine-quality brass in the construction of our umbrellas. In addition to being durable, the solid brass pin, chain and eye screw adds a more elegant look to our umbrella.

- Does your umbrella tilt?
No and with good reason. Stability becomes a real issue. The reason most people want their umbrella to tilt is so they can adequately shade themselves from the sun. To accomplish this, we offer extension flaps which snap on to the umbrella. The extension flaps come in a variety of lengths and do the job very nicely without sacrificing the stability of the umbrella.
- What is your warranty?
Our umbrellas are guaranteed against splitting, rusting or tearing from normal exposure for two years from the date of purchase. On our discretion, a damaged part will be replaced, free of charge, provided there is proof of purchase. Many of our competitors only offer a one-year warranty; some, only six months.
- How much will it cost to ship?

Shipping will take 3 to 5 weeks from the date you place your order.
- How do I install it?
It's very simple. The frame will come in one box fully assembled. The Sunbrella cover will come wrapped in a plastic pouch. Simple drape the Sunbrella cover over the frame and slide the ribs into the pockets and you're done.
